AI Disclosure
Full transparency about how our images are made.
Last updated: March 20, 2026
Every image is AI-generated
100% of images on OKSLOP are created using artificial intelligence. No cameras, no photo shoots, no post-production editing of real photographs. Every pixel is synthetic.
We believe this is a feature, not a caveat. And we believe you deserve to know.
What models do we use?
Our images are generated using a variety of state-of-the-art generative models, including models from OpenAI, Stability AI, Black Forest Labs, and others. We regularly evaluate and adopt new models as the technology evolves.
We don't lock ourselves into a single provider. Different models excel at different subjects — some produce stunning landscapes, others are better at product photography or abstract compositions. Our pipeline selects the best tool for each job.
No real people — but resemblances may occur
No image on OKSLOP is intended to depict a real person. All human subjects in our images are entirely synthetic. This means traditional model releases do not apply.
However, AI-generated images may inadvertently resemble real people, celebrities, public figures, or fictional characters. Generative AI models are trained on large datasets and can produce likenesses that bear resemblance to real individuals or recognizable characters. Any such resemblance is unintentional and accidental.OKSLOP has not obtained rights or clearances for any such resemblances.
Similarly, contributor names, image titles, tags, and descriptions onOKSLOP are generated or assigned as part of our creative pipeline. Any resemblance to real artists, photographers, brands, or any other real-world names is purely coincidental and unintentional. No association with or endorsement by any real person or entity is implied.
It is your responsibility to review images before use and to determine whether a depicted subject could be mistaken for a real person or known character. If so, additional rights (such as publicity rights, trademark clearances, or intellectual property permissions) may be required depending on your use case and jurisdiction.
No real places (usually)
Most scenes, environments, and backgrounds are fictional composites. However, some images may resemble real locations, landmarks, or trademarked properties if prompted with general descriptions like "Tokyo street" or "New York skyline." These are AI-generated interpretations, not photographs of actual locations. Rights related to recognizable locations, buildings, or landmarks have not been cleared.
Quality, curation, and limitations
Not every AI-generated image is good. We pass all images through a multi-stage curation pipeline that evaluates:
- Technical quality: Resolution, sharpness, coherence, absence of common AI artifacts
- Aesthetic quality: Composition, lighting, color balance, visual appeal
- Content safety: Filtering for inappropriate or harmful content
- Usefulness: Is this the kind of image people actually search for?
Only a fraction of generated images make it to the public library.
However, our validation processes — including automated AI agents and content filters — are inherently limited. Due to the generative nature of the content, it is not possible to guarantee that every image, title, description, or tag is free from problematic content, unintended resemblances, or inaccuracies. These systems are tools, not infallible gatekeepers. Ultimately, the responsibility for evaluating whether any content is appropriate for your use lies with you.
Metadata and transparency
Every image on OKSLOP includes metadata indicating it is AI-generated. We embed this in the image file metadata and display it on the image detail page. We support and follow emerging standards for AI content provenance.
Editorial vs. commercial use
Some AI-generated images may depict subjects that resemble recognizable characters, branded products, or public figures. Such images may be suitable for editorial purposes (commentary, education, news reporting) but could pose legal risks if used commercially (advertising, product packaging, promotional materials).
OKSLOP does not classify images as "editorial" or "commercial." It is entirely your responsibility to assess each image and determine the appropriate use based on its content and your jurisdiction's laws. When in doubt, seek legal counsel.
Your responsibilities
Our license gives you broad rights to useOKSLOP images. But with AI-generated content, important additional considerations apply:
- Review before use: You are solely responsible for reviewing every image you download or use. OKSLOP cannot guarantee that any image is free from resemblances to real people, characters, brands, or copyrighted works.
- Rights not cleared: No intellectual property, publicity, or trademark rights have been cleared for any image. You must obtain any necessary rights or permissions yourself.
- Don't misrepresent: Don't present AI images as real photographs in journalism, legal proceedings, or other contexts where the distinction matters.
- AI disclosure laws: Many jurisdictions — including the EU (AI Act), certain U.S. states, and others — require disclosure when content is AI-generated. If you republish OKSLOP images, it is your sole responsibility to comply with all applicable AI content disclosure and labeling requirements in your jurisdiction.
- No harmful use: Do not use images to harass, defame, deceive, discriminate against, or cause harm to any person, group, or entity.
- Use good judgment: If an image contains a realistic-looking human face or a recognizable character, think carefully before using it — especially in commercial contexts.
Assumption of risk
By browsing, downloading, or using any image from OKSLOP, you acknowledge that all images are AI-generated and may contain unintended resemblances or content. You assume all risk associated with your use of the images. OKSLOP, its owners, operators, and contributors shall not be held responsible or liable for any claims, damages, or losses arising from your use of any image, including but not limited to intellectual property infringement, privacy violations, or any other legal claims.
User-generated interactions
Some features of OKSLOP may allow users to interact with the platform in generative ways — such as requesting image generation, suggesting edits, submitting prompts, or interacting with AI-powered tools. You understand and acknowledge that:
- The outputs of any generative interaction are inherently unpredictable and may produce unexpected, inaccurate, or inappropriate results.
- Automated validation layers (including AI agents, content filters, and moderation systems) are limited in scope and cannot catch every issue.
- You are solely responsible for reviewing and evaluating the output of any interaction before using, sharing, or publishing it.
- OKSLOP bears no responsibility for content generated as a result of your interactions with the platform.
Report problematic content
Despite our best efforts, problematic content may slip through our filters. If you encounter any image, name, description, or other content on OKSLOP that you believe is problematic — including content that resembles a real person, infringes on intellectual property, contains inappropriate material, or is otherwise objectionable — please report it to us promptly at report@okslop.com.
We take all reports seriously and will review and address them as quickly as possible. Your help in identifying issues makes OKSLOPbetter and safer for everyone.
Studio creators and content responsibility
If you operate a studio on OKSLOP, you act as the publisher of the images generated through your AI artists. You are required to manually review and approve each image before it enters the public library. This manual approval step means:
- You are the final checkpoint. While we operate automated moderation systems, you are the primary line of defense against problematic content from your studio.
- Approval = responsibility. By approving an image, you affirm that you have reviewed it and take responsibility for its publication, including any potential trademark similarities, brand resemblances, or other issues.
- Reference material is your responsibility. If you upload images as style references or inspiration for your AI artists, you must have the rights to use that material for this purpose.
See our Terms of Service (Sections 7–10) for the full legal framework governing studio creator responsibilities.
Our position on AI and creativity
We're not trying to replace photographers, illustrators, or designers. We're filling the gap where stock photography has always been a compromise — the generic hero image, the placeholder background, the thumbnail that just needs to look right.
We believe AI-generated imagery and human-created art can coexist. We're transparent about what we are because we think honesty builds trust, and trust is the only foundation worth building on.
